Description
This is a 3D printed battery pack for a pair of AAA Batteries. I sectioned this from a larger case design to highlight the design elements of the battery snap fit for the door and ease of assembly. I’ve embedded some of the notes into the pictures. My hope is folks can use this design in whole or in part to advance their own designs.
This was also a good case study of how to dial in a snap fit. I included three versions of the battery door to illustrate how small differences in lever length vs. thickness can make a noticeable difference in snap engagement and user feel. Feel free to down load and print files to test these snaps. Files require no supports, skirts or brims; just make sure to print in proper orientation.
Btw, the contacts for the batteries are purchased from Digikey and are the same contacts I used in the “Night Light” I previously posted. You can find the p/n’s and mfg where I purchased these parts from in the “Night Light” post. See link below.
