Description

Snow delight lithophane ball with a tea light holder. It features a snowy winter landscape with a frozen lake. In the design, I removed the sky from the lithophane to allow light to shine out of the ball into the room, creating a beautiful play of light. Inside, there is a recess for an electric tea light.

Creation:
This is my first model, and I learned a lot through experimenting with the various tools. For editing the starting image, I used the tool Affinity Photo 2. With it, I modeled the two Christmas trees into the image to create a smooth transition in the final lithophane. The initial lithophane was made using lithophanemaker.com, a free online tool for making lithophanes.

To learn more about 3D Printing lithophanes be sure to check out American Filament's “Beginner's Guide to Lithophanes” at https://americanfilament.us/pages/beginners-guide-to-lithophanes

After that, I further refined the ball using Nomad Sculpt. With Nomad Sculpt, I cut out the sky and integrated the base as well as the holder for the tea light into the model.

Printing:
For the print, I used the default settings in the slicer, and the model does not require supports. I used SUNLU Marble PLA as the filament to give the piece a beautiful, old, stone-like touch.

I look forward to your feedback and wish you lots of fun printing it! Happy to see your makes. Thank you :)
