Quest3 Controller Light Stick Mounts for Beat Saber

ARE YOU READY TO TAKE YOUR BEAT SABER GAME TO THE NEXT LEVEL?!?!?

This is intended as some fun, so please read on with that in mind…

Firstly: I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE THEY MAY CAUSE YOUR CONTROLLER OR THINGS IN YOUR VICINITY

That said, I've used them heaps and they work just fine, but bear in mind they make the controller heavier and larger, so use the wrist straps and keep kids and pets even further away from you than normal.

So, what is this, and why? Well… there are plenty of Beat Saber adapters for Quest3 controllers out there, but in my mind they all have it the wrong way around (see the attached images). 

They attach to the bottom of the controller, so the attachment is the handle, and the controller becomes the sword….? What?!?

Obviously, the controller is the handle, and the sword sticks out the top!! For true realism, the attachment needs to go on top of the controller to be the sword, not this bottom attachment nonsense!!

This ongoing and egregious mistake had to be corrected, and I decided to step up and be the hero this world needed.

With some quick modification of this excellent Quest3 controller mount to fit some party light sticks, the error was fixed, and the rest, as they say, is history:

The above video also shows how to assemble the bits, but hopefully it's pretty easy to just guess; you'll need a cable tie to secure the curved piece that holds the light stick in place - without that cable tie the stick won't stay there, so this is very important!

The light sticks I used are these ones from Amazon: . If you use another kind of light stick they probably won't fit in properly (and I'm not going to make any different versions of these). These are cheap and come in a pack of three, so you'll have a spare.

The light sticks weigh about 90g with batteries in them, which isn't much, but it does add a fair bit of weight to the controller. 

As a point of reference, usually, I can play OS7 music pack's “The Master” track on Expert with the “Faster Song” modifier and reliably get an S or SS ranking, but with the light sticks attached an A ranking was the best I could manage - it's really quite hard to move the sticks around fast enough. On easier difficulty levels they aren't so bad.

Some other notes:

• these are unfortunately, not compatible with controller accessories like the Kiwi Grips etc - you'll have to remove them first.
• the angle of the light sticks doesn't quite match the swords in the game, but in my humble opinion, it's close enough. Besides, you can't see them when you're playing - they are more for others “outside” the game to watch.
• these will not make you look any cooler while playing Beat Saber ;)
• maybe don't play Beat Saber with these where you might be mistaken for an air traffic controller… ;)
