Description
If you've used or have a new Sunlu Filament Welder, then you know it's practically a 3 or 4 handed operation. This model is my first attempt at designing some "helping hands" to assist in the process. It can definitely use some improvements, but it does work and is better than not using at all.
The filament is held in place by sliding clips on each arm. The clips hold the filament with enough pressure to keep them from slipping, but still allow you to adjust the length that is sticking out of them. Once welded, you should be able to just unclasp and open the welder, then slide back the helping hands to allow the joint to cool enough to handle it and cut off the sleeve.
Note: While welding, you will still need to apply small pressure to the two ends so that the joint is completely welded (with no gaps). Also, once released, the joint is still soft so you may want to try and "hold" the joint straight until cooled.
Since I know there could be improvements to this, if you are intested in the actual models, just contact me and I will be glad to share them.
You will need to print two "Clips" and mirror on of them in the slicer. You will also need 2 ea. 3mm square nuts and 2 ea. 22mm x 3mm bolts.
