About

Gridfinity bin for Waveshare 1.69in Touch LCD Module.
You will need at least 2x  M2x12 screws to screw it into place.
Used Bin - 1x1x3 - pmcquay.stl as a base model.

Part of my smart enclosure for 3D printer.

Please give a like and post makes and provide comments for further improvements.

Changelog
- 2025.01.05 initial release

Dimensions:

  • width: 42mm (gridfinity)
  • depth: 42mm (gridfinity)
  • height 22mm (3u gridfinity)
  • magnets 6x2mm, optional

Print

  • I suggest 0.2mm layer height
  • infill whatever you like but 20% is recommended
  • supports are recommended
  • no brim
  • move the seam to the back of the print
  • for nice finish of the top print it upside down, be careful when removing supports, though.

Assembly

  • print it
  • use 2mm drill to clean up the holes
  • check if the display gets into the printed part properly without any obstructions, use a toothpick to push it from the bottom to disassemble the display and the printed base
  • write down cable pinout on the back of the display (take a photo)
  • push the cable through the hole, connect the cable to the display
  • screw in two M2x12 screws to the plastic part so they stand out a bit
  • put the display into the printed box, make sure cables are not tangled around the screws
  • screw in the screws softly
  • check if the display works
  • optionally glue in magnets to the bottom of the box
