Most Hydrogenated/Hydrogen Water Bottles are glass bottles for transparancy (so you can see the electrolysis bubbles) and to prevent leakage of the H2 gases… which means the bottles can easily break. Glass is heavier and very slippery… especially when wet.
This sacrificial case design mitigates the risk of breakage while increasing grip-ability… And the hex design has a great look while allowing you to see the electrolysis bubbles.
KEY NOTES:
- Slots for Power vs. Recharging Port - The charge port slot is slightly bigger. The water bottle (link below) that I used will almost certainly have its rubber power outlet charging cover get broken off by this design… It just doesn't survive the close friction fit. (There will be slight wear on the side of the recharging port as well.
- Print with “TREE supports (auto)” with a bambu lab printer. (If you use “Normal (auto)” supports, it takes forever to remove the supports, and you will end up with scratches… You've been warned.)
- This case is designed to be sacrificial… So, this design will not survive a fall if you use PLA. (160 grams = $1.60 to $3.20 worth of PLA filament… to protect a $40 glass water bottle.)
