Description
Want to get started with surveying but don't want to break the bank? This reasonably priced kit can be built for around $400 and will give you accuracy to a few millimeters when assisted with RTK or NTRIP correction data. Build two and you can have your own base station and feed correction data over the built in RF radio from several miles away. Utilizes the Sparkfun GPS-RTK-SMA Breakout board with the ZED-F9P GPS module.

Radio Transmitter: https://amzn.to/4fO4WBV

Phone Mount: https://amzn.to/428PJZ1

Bonus! If you build a second one and mount it on a tripod instead of a monopole, you can have your own RTK Base setup where the wireless radios can feed correction data from several miles away. The base station won't need a phone mount and will instead only require a USB power source once it has been configured. You can also omit the radio transmitter and instead use a free NTRIP server such as RTK2GO. I would recommend an app like SW Maps for Android.
