Mechanical Toilet Paper Counter

January 9, 2025
Description
What happens to all that toilet paper you buy? where does it go? Finally, a way to keep track of your tp.
*NOTE: I designed this to work with the toilet paper holder I have in my bathroom, I can't guarantee it will work with yours. Its intended use is with the holders that have an open end to change rolls, not the kind with the collapsible plastic piece that comes out.
The maximum diameter of the roller holder center piece is 23mm.
In the future I might make a variant that screws into the wall, replacing the roll holder altogether. This rides on the assumption that anyone would actually want to swap out their toilet paper holder for something I designed.
Anyways, you will need:
3mm steel rod, enough to cut into two 87mm lengths and two 19mm lengths
eight M2x16 bolts
four M3x16 bolts
a 12mm M8 coarse thread grub screw
See the attached assembly guide for putting the thing together :)
And finally, many of these parts are a precision fit, especially those that turn on the steel rod. Life is easier if you make sure stuff fits before you put it together.
Enjoy!
