About the relocation;

I got the idea from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3830464. Moving the electronics out of the cube structure gets me one step closer to an enclosed printer.
Also I will soon receive the new 32-bit 4.2.7 ARM-based controller board and with the electronics on the back, access is easier.

Although technically not a make of that thing, I do want to list it here as attribution.

About the remix;

There is not much left of the original file.

  • It is basically a 20 mm x 40 mm bracket, originally it was 40x40
  • the bracket is now 40 mm wide, originally 20
  • the extrusion-groove-guides are rotated 90 degrees
  • the thickness of the bracket is reduced 1mm where the bolt-head goes, so I can use M3x8, M4x8 bolts (x10 bolts are slightly too long and scrape the extrusion, instead of gripping the bracket)
  • the hole for the electronics case mount is at a specific location, not useful for a regular 20x20 corner ;) So as far as remixing goes; this is more attribution as well.

    I reused the o-rings from the original M5 bolts, but with M5x16 custom order bolts. I really want to use M5x8 or M5x10 bolts, but I ran out.

    [EDIT jan 14] I am planning to add a grouping wire, I don't know if it is needed, but just to make sure the frame will be grounded again.

    Issues with the bracket:

  • it is a VERY VERY snug fit. there is really NO room for movement, making the mounting a bit tedious

  • the hole for the M5 bolt is too tight. Yes, it works, but you need to screw it in the bracket at the same time as you screw it in the case. The bolt does not slide in the hole. (I really do not mind, I like a snug mount, but on request I can change it)

    About my make (as seen in the photo)

  • The print quality is not that great. It is printed on my Ender-3 and I seem to have an extrusion issue that I need to fix.

Notes:

For neatness of the extrusion guides, you might need supports, I printed without and did not have to clean up, it works perfectly.
