Description

A multiplying table education aid for children to practice their multiplications up to 10 x 10. Pressing the button reveals the product of the corresponding row and column.

No supports needed, nor screws or other hardware.

The buttons spring back up with the help of a tiny mesh of TPU that serves as a spring.

You can either print four smaller boards or, if you have a larger build plate, you can print the whole 10x10 board.

Printing

Nozzle: 0.4mm

Layer height: 0.2mm

Color changes

The top parts require a color change after the first or second layer for the edge numbers to show good contrast.

While the bottom parts need a color change at the second-to-last layer to print the numbers in a contrasting color.

The translucency of the button must be just right so that the number is only visible when the button is depressed. Different filaments will have varying translucency, I used 1 layer of white 0.8mm thick sandwiched between 2 layers of transparent filament. If it is still too transparent, sanding the top of the button can help.

Assembly

Insert two TPU spring meshes, one on either side of each number on the bottom part (50 for each board). Insert the buttons into the holes of the top part (25 for each board).

Next the top and bottom parts snap together with some pressure, just make sure everything is correctly assembled because separating them again may be difficult.
