Why another Lens cap?

The usage of an original Nikon cap on my adapter 2" to Nikon-F for astrophotography was quite loose and often dropped down while transporting/handling the telescope. Therefore I decided to design one on my own. After some mm the thickness are increasing for getting a tighter fit → not loosing the cap anymore.

 The cap is also fitting on lenses, but there I had no problems with loosing the caps.

There is one versions with ribs on the outside and one smooth. The ribs improve the grip when you want to tighten more firmly

Printing

Printed with PETG on Bambulabs X1 Carbon with 0.4 mm nozzle and variable layer height. Depending on the number of bottom shell layers no support is needed, no brim.
Top side on printbed (see picture).
 

Color

Printable with one or dual color.

Dual Color:
It is possible to paint the surface of the "F". The small groove around it is 0.42 mm deep which is around two layers. Depending on the used slicer maybe also the (very small) side-surfaces on the “F” should be painted.
