Smal 3D Scanning Marker Target

March 22, 2025
Description
They come in many different shapes and forms. Can be equiped with 4x2mm or 6x2mm round magnets in order to have them stick to metal parts (like on cars) or to stick to each other. If you have no magnets, the marker works fine without.
The markers are intended to be used with 6mm round sticky reflectors.
Printing:
The Dodecahedron marker might need a brim. Print all other parts in the given orientation with settings as you see fit.
Assembly:
Apply the reflector to the marker.
Put the magnets in the base, if you want to. Please note that the tree marker post only works with 4x2mm round magnets due to its size
Thats all :)
How to use:
The Tree parts are used for scaning high objects and are usefull if you have to scan “sideways”
All the other markers are multy purpose. They work great if mixed together, since the reflector is recognized best if perpendicular to the scanner. The different angles and shapes support this.
If you are looking for bigger Targets, or other 3D scanning related stuff, feel free to have a look on this collection
Note:
If you have no magnets at hand and you have to order anyway, id recommend using 4x2mm, since the 6x2mm are a little overkill for this application. They are included here because a lot of folks might allready have some laying around because of some gridfinnity project.
