YOJI | Evolutive Baby Chair
Meet YOJI, an evolutive baby chair.
I lived for almost 20 years in Asia and would sometimes run into these old traditional bamboo stools that would turn into baby chairs when flipped 90deg. So practical and simple. Pure genius. I pushed the concept further by adding the little toy container covered by a flip-top table, and by adding the toddler position.
You can pick between 2 versions:
The set comes with guiding brackets to help you cut the legs at equal length and drill the holes right in the middle of the legs.
For the wooden bars, you can use Ø18mm wooden dowels, or 3/4 inch ones if you are in the US.Â
You can get the wooden dowels from Amazon here:

For America: https://amzn.to/3BlEj9g
WOODEN BAR LENGTH:Â
The pack of STL includes a cutting guide to cut the wooden dowels just at the right length.
DIMENSIONS:
Â
3D PRINT SETTINGS:Â
All STL files are already oriented properly.
The side panel 3D models are "full". That's normal.
To create the mesh pattern, you need to cancel the top and bottom faces by setting the top layers and bottom layers to 0.Â
Then, pick you favourite infill pattern and set it to 20% to 30%.Â
Push the wall line count or wall loops count to 4.Â
And that's it!
SIDE PANELS & CONTAINER:Â
Resolution: 0.2 to 0.3mm/layerÂ
Wall line count or Wall loops: 4Â
Top layers: 0 (to cancel top face)Â
Bottom layers: 0 (to cancel bottom face)Â
Infill: gyroid 20% to 30% (I printed with 20%)Â
Build adhesion type: NoneÂ
Supports: None
CROTCH HOLDER & TABLE TOP:Â
Go with regular print settings.Â
No brim or supports needed.
To make the middle stripe of the side panels in a different colour like on the pictures, you can modify your Gcode to schedule a filament change at the layer where the colour change happens.Â
First, slice your model.
Then, in CURA go to:Â
Extensions > Post Processing > Modify Gcode > Add Script > Filament ChangeÂ
And in there you input the layer where you need the filament change to happen.Â
Add a second Filament Change script if you want the colour to go back to the original like on the pictures.Â
Slice your model once again so it updates your Gcode.Â
And there you go! Ready to print!
In BAMBU STUDIO:Â
Slice the model.Â
Then, using the layer scroll bar, locate the layer where you want the colour change, right-click on your mouse and hit "Add pause".Â
Slice again.Â
Do it on as many locations as you want colour changes.Â
Allocate the various material colours to each area if you have an AMS lite.Â
Do a final slice, and print.
