Description
This is a cap / mount that sits on top of the Neptune Prododer (my model is the 5/8" T-10) to read the dial using the ai-on-the-edge project. Its places the camera 100mm from the dial face. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to twist the camera lens ¼ turn anti-clockwise to focus correctly - it's glued but it will give eventually with enough force. Just make sure to support the camera body properly and not damage the ribbon cable.
We don't have the reverse engineering module for NX at work so I was winging this by the seat of my pants. You can tell from the tube model that the bottom of the model is not completely flat, but it's honestly 99% good enough and I don't care…
I am lazy and just used 33 scotch electrical tape to tape the mount in place over my meter, but you could put holes in the tube for zip ties or some other method if you really care enough.
I'd recommend being patient and printing each piece separately. I went with PLA at 0.25mm layer height. I used superglue to assembly the CAP and TUBE together.
Ignore the image of the final print and meter, that is an earlier version I did where I mistakenly set the focal length to 40mm instead. I will eventually get around to uploading a final pic.
