Description
This was originally for the VCore4 electronics enclosure. The cooling fan was supposed to be inside of the cover. One time while putting the cover back on the electronics enclosure, the wires for the cooling fan got caught in one of the fan blades, I didn't check it and when I got the alarms for the drivers overtemp, the fan was roasted. So I bought replacement standard 120 mm cooling fans, and they are too thick (25 mm) to fit inside. So I mounted the replacement fan on the outside, which works, but looks bad. I made this bezel so it looks like it belongs there and maybe is less likely to get smashed.
The fan is more powerful (and louder) than the original, so I slowed it to 75% by adding this to the printer.cfg file:
[controller_fan controller_fan]
fan_speed: 0.75
To mount the fan use M3x30 flat head screws, which came with the fan I bought.
I printed it with 3D Fuel Refuel PCTG with 10% gyroid infill. This is recycled filament and can have some surface blemishes you can see in the photo, along with random color, but again. Update - I have updated my PCTG profile to match 3D Fuel's profiles on their website and no more blemishes.
