Description

Having Eufy e330 24/7 cameras takes a toll on the HB3 as the HDD creates a lot of heat constantly writing. Both HDD and HB3 slowly died over a year due to the heat - HDD first and then HB3. My setup is located in the garage, therefore temps already get 40+ degrees so a fan is absolutely necessary for this horrible design.

Found this model when trying to fix my Homebase 3 heating issues. I've modified it to have a higher mount, to allow for a little more room. I also created a ventilated version to further improve the design. I've based this on the 40mm design as the fan is quiet - any bigger and it will be overkill/annoying. Head over to the thingiverse page for the 60mm version.

Best used with 5V Noctua A4x20 40mm fan, soldered to a USB plug and plugged into the HB3 USB port. (see attached image with fan from tmarks11).

^ I ended up using a prebuilt 40mm fan off for  $8 shipped at ebay.

or Amazon get 4 of the for the same price. https://tinyurl.com/434nu5we

NEW UPDATE add a vent version!

Important (but not always obvious) → Fan should face outwards, meaning air is being directed out of the unit. If the ambient temp within your environment is lower than what the unit runs at, then face it inwards, but if it's nearly always hotter within your environment, then face it outwards to cool it.

0.15mm layer, 3 walls, 20% infill, Brim
