Description
Came up with these for making my battery bank easier to use with the Quest 2. One advantage is that it is a nearly perfect counterweight for the headset, battery weight is 493g while Quest 2 is 503g. The main advantage is being able to use the Quest 2 for streaming VR games from my PC nearly all day, had a marathon session on Lone Echo 2 yesterday with about a total of 6 hours play and the battery bank was only half depleted while the Quest 2 was still at 96% (discharges very slowly in use to the point where it's almost negligible).
Design is quite simple, the hooks (need to print two of them) snap or slide onto the battery then hook over the top of the Kiwi Design Elite strap on either side of the adjustment knob. The hooks at the top are just long enough to hold the battery onto the strap and still be easy to fit and remove, just pull out at the bottom and lift up to remove.
I printed out this version in PTEG with a minimum of 3 perimeters for strength, but feel free to modify to whatever setting you want. Should be ok in PLA as I printed the first revision in PLA and was working OK but the middle hook needed to be lengthened for a better grip on the battery. If anyone wants the original Funsion360 files to modify the design for a different headstrap or battery let me know in the comments and I'll post an archive of it.
If you want to use this battery it can be bought in the UK from Currys at https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/phones-broadband-and-sat-nav/mobile-phones-and-accessories/mobile-phone-chargers-adaptors-and-cables/goji-g6p20pd20-20-000-mah-portable-power-bank-black-10196431-pdt.html, for other regions search for Goji G6P20PD20.
