Description

I wanted to carry an extra battery on the front of my backpack using Peak Design's Anchor Connectors or Think Tank Red Whip bungee straps. The Red Whips are really tight, but they do work. I used Inferno3D's (on MakerWorld) remix to remix my own and add the attachment point. Since I made a few other tweaks (see below) to carry in my bag or pocket, I included it here.

This has been tested to work on multiple genuine Sony NP-FZ100 batteries and Newmowa 3rd party batteries.

Printing:

  • Plate 1 is the tether loop version.
  • Plate 2 is for pockets or bags.
  • PETG, ABS, or ASA recommended, especially if you are hiking in Death Valley.
  • Shown printed in PLA, 3 perimeters, 15% cubic infill, no brim or supports, with a .4 nozzle and .2 layer height. The 3 perimeters is important to keep the loop area strong and to keep the finish fairly uniform. I tried to use a modifier to only strengthen the loop, but it changed the speed and therefore finish of the part too much.
  • The tether loop one uses 24.05g of filament and the non-tether one uses 22.75g of filament.

Easy release: Hold with the Sony logo facing you. Place your left thumb on the battery through the open bottom,. Pull the release with your index finger while pushing up with your thumb. Original designer was on point with this.

**Warning - Those Peak Design Attachment Connectors are just long enough to allow the weight of these batteries to build up a head of steam, so be careful flinging your bag around. Ask me how I know.

I'm new to 3D printing and this is my second upload, so be gentle. 😳😂
