Description
The end cap is designed to integrate water flow from a silicone tube into a standard 2-inch PVC pipe system.
The main body of the end cap is designed to fit securely over the outside of a 2-inch PVC pipe with an outer diameter of 2.375 inches (60.325 mm).
The integrated adapter is engineered to connect with silicone tubing measuring 10 mm to 12 mm in inner diameter.
This ensures ease of installation and a tight fit, preventing leaks during operation. Be sure to utilize silicone or plumbers glue for a water tight seal.
It is recommended to print this part upright, allowing bridging to take care of the long overhang. This ensures that the barbed connection will print optimally.
This feature allows seamless water flow from the silicone tube into the PVC pipe, making it suitable for applications like hydroponic systems, irrigation, or fluid transfer systems.
Material Considerations:
The end cap can be 3D printed using common thermoplastics such as PETG or ABS for durability and water resistance.
For increased longevity and compatibility with water-based applications, use FDA-approved or food-safe materials if applicable.
This open-source part design is suitable for:
-Hydroponics systems, allowing controlled water or nutrient solution delivery.
-DIY irrigation systems.
-Experimental fluid management systems in prototyping or lab settings.
Customization Potential:
Users can modify the adapter dimensions or the overall cap design to fit varying pipe sizes or tubing diameters based on specific project requirements.
Open-Source License:
This design is being made open source to support innovation in fluid transfer and modular system design. Users are encouraged to share improvements or modifications to further enhance functionality.
