Description

Hello everyone here is another one from series clay playdoh fun.

this time wanted to make something mechanical as learned recently some gear stuff.

there we have outcome

adjustable roller/press for equal layer of clay or playdoh.

designed in the way to allows you to roll same slope angles as well.

 

for assembling mechanism please see pictures size of washers matter  

purple - 13mm

blue - 14mm

red - 7mm

yellow - 8mm

brownish - 1mm

to be successful on assembling you will need 1 12mm long wood screw for handle knob 

gears, axis 1, axis 2, mid gear plate with pole and gear plate parts are recommended to be printed with at least PETG as this parts need to handle pressure of clay rollers.

assembling should start with prepareing rollers with fitting them with end distancer and end axis for both makes life easier later

look at pictures while reading instructions as this relates to screenshots (screenshots in order as well)

  1. lay gear plate on cup or some risers to keep it away from flat surface
  2. fit washer 7mm on top left pole like on picture washer setup
  3. lay mid gear plate with pole and join it using mid gear plate 1 with pole with washer on see pic 1
  4. slide 1 mm washers on both then gears and again 1mm washers see pic 2
  5. cover with mid gear plate 2 slide 1 mm washer on right side see pic 3
  6. on adjustable roller axis slide both sides 7mm washers and slide together through hole in mid gear plate with pole (mind to have hexagonal part going through the gear plate not through right plate) see pic 2/3
  7. on fixed roller axis slide first 13mm washer then 14 mm washer on other side and fit in to hole in gear plate see pic 4
  8. slide 8mm washer on pole above see pic 4 and washers setup
  9. join mid gear plate pole with adjustable axle using mid gear plate see pic 4
  10. fit locking screw on top of adjustable axle see pic 4
  11. cover everything with right plate pic 5
  12. lock plate using locking caps and screw on lock cap pic 6
  13. assemble handle using 12 mm wood screw screw knob to handle from the back through knob washer
  14. glue handle to handle extension and it it on fixed axis (white) see pic 5
  15. mechanism is assembled press it in to stand with handle out
  16. fit preassembled rollers on hex pins visible on mechanism plate
  17. into left plate fit lock screw and lock cap on adjustable roller side 
  18. fit left plate in to stand making sure rollers axis are in designed places
  19. fit top clip for extra stability
  20. job done
  21. to easy adjustment print spacers in size you seek slide between rollers on both ends and lock roller using lock screws pull spacers. job done

hope instructions written in understandable shape if not please comment so will try to fix. 

device is working and mostly printed already just waiting for base and handle to come out and will post pictures of full device. at the moment enjoy limited version
