OVERVIEW:
While getting into the 10 inch home lab space, I opted for using a few Dell OptiPlex PCs from Ebay to run some of my services. Since the part is small and easy, I decided to make a replacement plate for the Jellyfin server! This small square logo directly replaces the Dell logo.
There are two models - the base plate and the Jellyfin plate. This allows you to create a replacement logo assembly, and THEN superglue the multi-color logo onto this replacement plate. I wanted this to be one single model, but to keep the nice color change effect, it would mean a lot of supports around the base plate connector areas that would make for subpar installation. This does have the benefit of users easily creating their own logos or designs.
Aside from a 3D printer and filament, you will need only superglue to join the two pieces.
This was tested with the two units I have available to me - a Dell OptiPlex Micro 3020 and 3040. I do not know if this will work on newer models, but it's a tiny amount of filament (less than two grams) for the baseplate, so feel free to try!
Models should be in their correct orientation, but if you want to be sure, the baseplate should have the small rods pointing up, and the logo plate should have the logo facing upward.
Also - you can use the Dell screw, spring and washer if you like, but I just snapped these into the units. They're snug, but not too snug.
PRINT SETTINGS:
Layer Height: 0.12mm
Walls: 3
Infill: 100%
Brim: Not needed in my case
Extra Notes: If printing at a 0.12mm layer height, pause the logo plate at layer 9 in your slicer. If you use a different layer height, you will have to adjust for this (again, worst case it's under two grams of filament, so not a huge deal if you need to tinker with this)
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Have a logo you want made for your home lab? Shoot me a message! Making a different base plate may be difficult for other models, but if the base plate works for you, and you don't do much with CAD, I don't mind making a different logo. If you check out my page, I've also published this same model with a Home Assistant plate!
