Gridfinity Modular Magnet Storage System

Description

I got tired of just having a gridfinity bin with an amorphic blob or random magnets stuck together so I modeled up this modular system to hold them.

I created the system to hold magnets, but you can really use it to hold and organize any small components, I suppose.

I made carriers for all of the magnets I had on hand, which were mostly imperial sizes. I think most of them are pretty common, so hopefully, yall get some use out of them.

I've also included blanks of 1-15 units deep so you can customize your own in the slicer. Or you can open up the included Fusion or STEP file and modify it there. Please upload your additional sizes as remakes so we can all benefit 😃

You can also direct message me if you would like me to create a size that is not here. I'd like to grow this collection based on demand.

Printing Notes:

• Easy to print
• No support needed
• Should print well with any material (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc)
• I strongly encourage you to add a brim on the 1U and maybe even the 2U carriers for good bed adhesion and stability.

2024-01-28:

• Added a 1x2 base
• Fixed the magnet holes on the 2x2 base

2024-02-05:

• Added a 3.5 mm insert
• Added a 4 mm insert

2025-02-12

• Updated the 4 mm insert to be two units deep based on feedback that the 1u version was too fragile
• Added a 10 mm insert
• Updated the .step and .f3d files to the latest versions

2025-02-19

• Added inserts for all size round magnets from 1mm to 13mm in 0.5mm increments
• Added an “Other Sizes - Special Requests” folder to hold sizes not in the 1-13mm range. PLEASE DM OR ADD A COMMENT if you have a special request, and I will try and get it out as soon as I can
• Added a 15mm round version to the “Other Sizes” folder

2025-02-21

• Got rid of the “combo sizes” inserts, the one where one insert was designed to be used for an imperial size and a close approximation for a metric size
• Added inserts for all imperial sizes from 1/32 in to ½ in in 1/32 in increments
• Added a STEP file for each STL file that has been uploaded so far
• Removed the STEP file that was supposed to have all of the inserts, as I could never get it to export correctly from F360.
• Updated the Fusion file with the latest version
