Description

A simple design that allows a standard 120*120*25mm PWM fan and ducts with a total thickness of 30mm to be mounted with only 2 screws.

Required Parts
  • One 120*120*25mm PWM fan
  • One printed fan mount with your desired angle. The pictures show the 20° version.
  • Two printed clamps
  • One intake duct with 2mm thickness, I used intake_v2_120 from https://www.printables.com/model/72449-120mm140mm-desk-fan-updated/files
  • The Noctua airflow multiplier with 3mm thickness https://www.printables.com/model/887071-nv-aa1-12-airflow-amplifier
  • Two screws to mount to your rig, I used 20mm wood screws.
Printing

PLA works fine, use the color you like.

I picked black Bambu PLA basic as it was the closest I had to match the fan color. I used 0.2 layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle for the fan mount and additionally variable layer height for the top of the clamps to make the edge look more uniform.

Assembly

First screw the fan mount to your rig. Then hold the ducts with one clamp in your hand and slide the fan between the ducts into the corner. Repeat with the other clamp for the second corner. Finally slide the fan and ducts into the fan mount.

Connect the fans to your Arduino that you have set up via Simhub. The pinout depends on your configuration, this tutorial is very helpful https://www.acelab.net/DIY-WindSim-with-Simhub-v11.pdf

I also printed a small case for my custom Arduino Nano Board, that you can find here https://www.printables.com/model/1168031-arduino-nano-case-for-sim-hub-wind-simulation

Models

I attached the FreeCAD models that you can use to adjust the mount for your needs via the parameter spreadsheet.
