Description
Clips to hold magnets to keep a wire grid held onto a vertical surface.
Intended to use for a climbing surface for plants on the back of an Ikea Rudsta cabinet.
The clips hold the grid firmly to the back of the cabinet, the grids would rest onto the shelf. You will likely need a lot of magnet clips to keep the grid self-supporting onto the slick back surface.
I probably doesn't matter what type of filament is used, PLA and PETG would both likely have enough flex. It is possible that PLA would not hold up long term, and might deform enough that the clips no longer work. Use your own judgement on this.
This uses 10x3mm round neodymium magnets. The ones I ordered mesured 2.7mm, so I made the insert 10.2mm x 2.8mm square. I set a pause in the print at the top of the insert, put the magnets in, and continued the print.
