Description
This 3D model is a practical and functional screw-on support designed to hold a roll of aluminum foil on your kitchen door. It’s perfect for saving space and keeping your foil within easy reach while cooking or baking. The support is designed to be sturdy, easy to install, and compatible with most standard kitchen cabinet doors.
The model is available in two versions to accommodate different 3D printer bed sizes:
Single-Piece Version: For larger print beds, the model is provided as a single piece for seamless printing.
Split Version: For smaller print beds, the model is divided into two parts that can be easily assembled after printing.
Printing Profiles and Tips:
Material: PLA or PETG is recommended for durability and ease of printing. PETG offers better resistance to moisture and heat, making it ideal for kitchen environments.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm for a balance between speed and detail.
Infill: 20-30% for a sturdy yet lightweight structure.
Supports: Not required due to the optimized vertical orientation.
Orientation: Print vertically to ensure the best layer adhesion and strength. This orientation also minimizes the need for supports.
Adhesion: I didn't need a brim.
Assembly Tips (for Split Version):
Print both parts vertically as per the recommended orientation.
Clean the joining edges to ensure a smooth fit.
Use a strong adhesive (e.g., epoxy or super glue) to bond the two halves together. Clamp the pieces until the adhesive sets.
Reinforce the joint with a small bead of filament using a 3D pen or soldering iron (optional).
Installation:
Position the support on the inside of your kitchen cabinet door.
Mark the screw holes and pre-drill if necessary.
Secure the support using screws. Ensure the screws are tight enough to hold the roll but not so tight as to damage the printed part.
