Prusa Mini Z-Axis Cute Octopus Indicator

Make your Prusa Mini a little more fun by adding a spinning-head rotating octopus z-axis indicator to the top! This little guy will let you know when your z-axis moves by turning his little head around and around!

This is based on the world famous “cute mini octopus” which was trending for a while on Thingiverse. 

Print settings:

• 0.2mm layer height
• 10% gyroid infill 
• no supports for the legs and neck
• supports for the head (snug supports work great!)

Total print time is about 3 hours depending on your settings.

Once printed, snap off the “support” under the octopus' beak, glue the “neck” into the head using superglue (theres a small recess in the head so you can get it centered easily). Then you just need to pop your magnets of choice into the space in the bottom of the neck (I use a pair of 3mm Neodymium magnets but others will probably work just fine.

Once assembled, pop the legs on top of your extruder (I use a tiny bit of bluetac to hold them in place and put the neck into the hole, magnet side first into the hole in the top of the z-axis motor.

Now just sit back and enjoy your new Cephalopod friend!
