Description
This mod to the BOBOVR M2/M3 Pro/Mini Head Strap replaces the stock battery mount for an INUI B61 battery. The stock BOBOVR battery is unable to sustain the charge level of the Quest 3, while other USB-PD batteries can.
The design was remodeled and remixed to:
The required materials are the same as the original:
- 10x3mm Neodymium Magnets (4 for the dock, 4 for each battery holder or accessory)
- 1-1.5ft USB-C cable (Should support USB-PD, and ideally use a right-angle connector for the Quest.)
- INUI B61 battery (Any other battery most likely requires a new design for battery holder.)
- Some sort of glue to combine the dock screw base and dock magnet mounts.
Also included is a model for replacing the battery mount with an HTC VIVE Tracker or Tundra Tracker, but most likely needs modification for the screw + holding mechanism (hexagon nut in this case). Fusion 360 archive files are provided for all models.
A temperature-resistant filament, like PETG or ASA, is recommended to avoid warping when transported (ex: a hot car), but PLA should work fine. The model was tested with "0.2mm STRUCTURAL" settings using "Generic PETG" for Overture PETG on a Prusa MK4S. No modifications to settings were made, including wall thickness, infill, or supports. All models should be printed in their default orientation. 2 magnet mounts are required.
During assembly, use a decent amount of glue between the dock magnet mounts and screw base, and optionally use a soldering iron to plastic weld them together. The magnets for all models should be able to be pressed in and stay in without glue.
To manage the cable, consider printing a cable management clip.
