Description
This is a knob primarily thought for Ikea's Kallax series using M3 hardware because that's what most makers have at home. There are two print files, the knob itself (one with a chamfer one without) and a “base” you can put on your screw so it doesn't rattle inside the hole (which is made for M4 screws). It uses heat-set inserts so it doesn't fall apart after screwing/unscrewing it twice.
The shape of the knob is modelled after the “default” knob you get with Kallax inserts. The Skadis insert came with a larger, clunkier knob that didn't fit with the rest so I've cadded this knob instead of taking care of my children.
A little trick to get the heat-set inserts flush: put it about 90% in and then turn the print around and press it against something flat (and preferably heat resistant) like a plate or a metal sheet.
If your printer doesn't deal well with tight tolerances and you can't screw the base onto your screw, print it 5% larger, it should still easily fit inside the hole.
