This 3D model is a practical and space-saving screw-on support designed to hold a roll of transparent film (cling wrap) on your kitchen door. Itβs perfect for keeping your film within easy reach while cooking or food prepping. The support is sturdy, easy to install, and compatible with most standard kitchen cabinet doors.
To enhance functionality, the model is designed to accommodate the cutter from the original film box. Simply detach the cutter from the box and attach it to the support as shown in the photos for seamless use.
The model is available in two versions to suit different 3D printer bed sizes:
Single-Piece Version: For larger print beds, the model is provided as a single piece for seamless printing.
Split Version: For smaller print beds, the model is divided into two parts that can be easily assembled after printing.
Printing Profiles and Tips:
- Material: PLA or PETG is recommended. PETG offers better durability and moisture resistance, making it ideal for kitchen environments.
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm for a balance between speed and detail.
- Infill: 20-30% for a lightweight yet sturdy structure.
- Supports: Not required due to the optimized vertical orientation.
- Orientation: Print vertically to ensure the best layer adhesion and strength. This orientation also minimizes the need for supports and reduces the risk of warping.
- Adhesion: Use a brim (5-10 mm) to improve bed adhesion (if needed). In my test it wasn't necessary.
Assembly Tips (for Split Version):
- Print both parts vertically as per the recommended orientation.
- Clean the joining edges to ensure a smooth fit.
- Use a strong adhesive (e.g., epoxy or super glue) to bond the two halves together. Clamp the pieces until the adhesive sets.
- Reinforce the joint with a small bead of filament using a 3D pen or soldering iron (optional).
Cutter Attachment:
- Carefully detach the cutter from the original film box.
- Use strong double-sided tape or adhesive to attach the cutter to the designated area on the support, as shown in the photos.
- Ensure the cutter is securely attached and aligned for smooth cutting.
Installation:
- Position the support on the inside of your kitchen cabinet door.
- Mark the screw holes and pre-drill if necessary.
- Secure the support using screws. Ensure the screws are tight enough to hold the roll but not so tight as to damage the printed part.
This model is designed to make your kitchen more organized and efficient. Happy printing! π
