Description
Designed for the local FD, this hose wrench has gone through a couple iterations. This design solves a few problems with commercially available options (especially cost), giving firefighters a pair or wrenches that are easy to keep handy in bunker gear pockets. So far proven quite effective and durable if printed with the appropriate materials.
V1 - Just a simple hose wrench, with holes for 6x2mm magnets to keep them together in the pocket. It has FIRE RESCUE text for multi-colour prints if desired.
V2 - Added an O2 wrench and lanyard hole (currently using 7/64" dyneema lanyards)
V2.5 - Added glass breaker - requires the carbide inserts to be cut to between 8-10mm, depending on how much of a spike you want exposed. I recommend 9mm. The simplest method of cutting accurately is to put it in a drill, and use a hacksaw as it is spinning. Heat and press into place.
Work in Progress: V3 - Added glass breaker and seat belt cutter. The seat belt cutter is a #11 hobby knife blade - pause print at specific layer and insert the blade into the print. The window breaker uses tungsten carbide scribe tips. Currently experimenting with location of the cutter; if you try this model, please let me know which one works for you.
Recommend printing in ASA, PETG, or Nylon; 100% infill, annealing may be beneficial if done properly.
