Bambu X1 Nozzle Mold – Improved Thermal Protection & Cleanliness

I designed this mold for the Bambu X1 0.4mm nozzle after realizing that simply wrapping Kapton tape around the nozzle was not enough to provide proper thermal protection. Additionally, keeping the nozzle clean was always a challenge, as existing nozzle scrapers didn’t work effectively.

This mold allows you to create custom thermal-resistant nozzle socks that leverage the existing PTFE tube cleaner of the Bambu X1. The design significantly reduces the nozzle's surface area, preventing filament residue from accumulating. As shown in Figure C, the filament drops right off the nozzle, keeping it much cleaner.

How to Use the Mold:

1. Prepare 1ml of a two-component, thermal-resistant polymer.
2. Inject the liquid into the mold using a syringe.
3. Once cured, remove the newly formed nozzle sock from the mold.
4. Repeat the process to create multiple socks for your nozzle.

Printing Recommendations:

• No supports needed
• Layer height: 0.1mm for optimal detail
• Material: Any rigid filament capable of handling the molding process
