Description
These are the fully 3D-Printables tools I have designed/modified for painting my miniatures. If you have any specific requests, please let me know. I hope these parts help you with your painting needs!
(14/01/2026) - Updated formatting.
(10/06/2025) - Added a really simple wall-mount for the spray-sticks. It attaches using a standard command strip and prints in as little as 15 minutes.
The spray handle allows for easy spray priming/airbrushing batches of tabletop miniatures. I wanted to build a solution that required no additional hardware, didn't sag under the weight of the models and was ergonomic to use.
There are multiple variants, suited to different needs. If you are painting various sizes of miniature, then the blank plate version will suit you best - as base sizes vary, you will need to find something to adhere your models, such as blu-tack or double-sided tape.
However, if you are painting a large number of models with the same bases then I recommend a sized variant. I have provided 28mm, 32mm and 40mm versions, however if there is another size you need, I have included the .step for easy modification.
The sized versions include sets of small clamps which slide into the plates, holding your models very securely. These clamps can be re-used with the individual handles, allowing for an entirely custom, 3D-Printed miniature tool workflow.
n.b. if you print multiple handles of different sizes, they should be able to share a grip, however you may find the fit somewhat stiff due to paint buildup, and 0.1mm size differences. Furthermore, if you feel the fit is not quite as tight as you would like, a spot of superglue will ensure it never moves again.
These are really quick prints, allowing you to have as many as needed on the go, making for jumping between models a breeze, especially when batch painting. I recommend fuzzy skin for the handles to improve grip.
There are 28mm, 32mm and 40mm sizes in this set, if you need another size, simply scale them up/down as needed - remember to scale the clamps too. There are two clamps required per base, and they require a small amount of support material when printing to ensure they fit properly.
You might notice that the handles and the spray stick share their mounting system, meaning you can re-use the clamps between handle types.
