DIY Air Cleaner/Purifier

Costs about £10-£30 for the full build depending on which components you already have. For me, I just had to buy the HEPA filter.

Main Components Used:

  1. 9 to 12 V PSU - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0921KQ7NX
  2. HEPA Filter - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BJC8XQL
  3. Any 120 mm PC fan, the one I used was an Arctic P12 Fan - https://www.arctic.de/en/P12/ACFAN00118A
  4. Fan Cover - https://www.printables.com/model/860324-120-mm-fan-cover-with-infillpattern
  5. The Fan Adapter and Endcap
  6. Four M3/4x40 Screws
  7. Four M3/4 Nuts
  8. Either:
    1. Another Four M3/4x40 Nuts
    2. M4 Spacers
    3. Fan Spacer -https://www.printables.com/model/1188306-120-mm-fan-spacer

The HEPA Filter used has an inner diameter of 155 mm and was advertised to be compatible with the: Dyson TP03, TP00, AM11, BP01 or TP02. It was about £10 at the time of purchase. As I had the other components already it cost me jus that £10 to make.

Assembly Guide

  • Print the fan adapter and endcap.
  • (optional) Print a fan spacer, such as the one from the link provided.
  • Place the fan spacer on the adapter if you printed one, otherwise, place the m4 nuts or spacers on the m4 screws instead.
  • Mount the fan to the adapter.
  • Push the fan adapter into one end of the HEPA filter.
  • Push the endcap into the other end.
  • Connect the fan to your PSU. I prefer running the fan a little slower by using 9 V instead of 12 V.

Can be printed with standard PLA, no supports required.
