Description
I needed a way to better dispense a 5lb spool of .032 safety wire I use at work, and couldn't find something that worked, so I made one that is easy to print.
Included is a non gridfinity version, and a 3x3 gridfinity one if that's what you are into. The gridfinity version also accepts magnets on the bottom.
The holes for the cone attachment are sized for m3 threaded inserts and m3x12 screws. It's a tight fit on the thru holes, but that's on purpose. I printed with 5 walls and 50% infill, just to give it a bit of heft. Should print on almost any printer with any settings.
The spool or wire is heavy enough that it doesn't want to spin back on itself, especially if you just leave a little bit poking out the cone and bend it to the side. Rubber feet or just rubber of some kind is a good idea for the non gridfinity version. I used some leftover tabletop rubber I had, and it works really well to keep it on the table surface.
