1991 - 1998 Ducati 900ss 750ss battery box for use with pod filters

This is a battery box for use on the carb'd, belt drive Super Sports when you delete the stock airbox and use pod filters. It uses the pad from the stock battery box will only fit if you cut the tabs off the bottom of it. Assuming you didn't pull them off when you removed it to begin with...

If I find the list of hardware needed I'll post it but it should be somewhat easy to work out. There are two slots that are intended to capture velcro strips to hold the battery in place. 6mm fasteners to hold the box to the frame. 4mm fasteners (I think) to hold the coil towers to the box.

The starter solenoid mount will bolt onto the bottom. The stock mount for the coils and ignitors will fit on the coil towers.

For use on a fully faired bike, you will need to print two spacer shims. They go between the forward facing arms and the frame. If you have a bike with a half fairing, the fairing brackets will be there and no shims should be needed.

This will require a large format printer. I use a Creality K1 Max. I don't know which printeres will work. Download the stl and see if it fits your printer.

Materials - I used ASA for the parts that I printed. That's probably overkill but better safe than sorry. I originally planned to use carbon fiber infused PETG and still think that would work but never tried it. It gets hot under the tank, batteries are heavy, PLA is a bad choice.

This originally started out as a custom sized box for an EarthX lithium battery. Much lighter weight and smaller - this version was only done after I was explaining to someone why it wouldn't work and then thought of ways to make it all fit after all. On my bike, I ended up going with a smaller, lighter lithium battery and a modern MOSFET regulator. Use this at your own risk. I can't be responsible for your print failing.

I have printed a couple of these but don't have any pictures since they were sent out to people. On my bike I use a different design with a smaller battery.
