Description
To start off, it is not quite ratcheting, but it does click to provide some friction and stop it from unwinding, so that was a bit of a clickbait.
I tried loads of cable organisers just look at my makes you will see half of them there are dozens more on other sites and I just could not find one that would work for me perfectly so I finally designed my own.
Features I was going after:
1. Easy to wind up and if you pull on cables it will easily unwind as well plus that nice click.
2. Not using a tonne of filament so function over form.
3. A cable needs to be able to be put in and taken out without disassembly so it can fit the head of a USB C or micro USB cable through the hole.
4. Easy on cable so nice round corners I do not need to buy more cables or see them go from supporting 100w to 15w all of a sudden….
5. Few variants for screws friction fit assembly etc. Every maker has their preferred way and I hate not having the option to pick. For the ones I made, I used M3x8 countersunk screws.
6. Allow for print inaccuracies as I like to print fast with large nozzles. There are so many great designs out there but I am not changing a nozzle to print twice as long. Ain't nobody got time for that!
7. Nice to fidget with well just because.
This version fits up to 2m long braided cable I will add a bigger version to fit 3m long cables as well.
