Description

Print at 100% infill with a layer height of 0.08mm with a base layer of 0.16mm

Swap Instructions (add pauses in your slicer at the numbered layers below and swap colors)
Swap Instructions:
Start with Black
At layer #11 (0.96mm) swap to Orange
At layer #15 (1.28mm) swap to Yellow
At layer #17 (1.44mm) swap to White for the rest

Notes and tips:

-I am using a basic FlashForge 5M printer with a stock .4mm nozzle on these (not a multicolor printer, that’s the magic of HueForge).
-I am using basic PLA (Elegoo mostly), nothing special but make sure your filaments are dry!

-I am using Orca slicer. Slice once, then add the pauses at the right layers, re-slice then transfer to a USB to send to print. Slicing can take some time (2-10 minutes depending on your computer), these are larger files but I’ve never had one fail or crash during slicing.
-Most of these start with black, and then the dark/more opaque colors, with white usually at the top (follow the instructions posted for each print). You will only need to change filament once per color, so less colors means less swaps needed. But overall I never use more than 6 or 7 total, and try to stick to 3 - 5 for these.
-You have some room to experiment with colors, they don’t have to be exact. Experiment and have fun!

-You do have to be exact with the number of layers (Z axis). You may be able to adjust the size (length and width) if needed, but adjusting the number of layers will cause problems.
-These take 3 - 5 hours to print, on average.
-I suggest slowing down your print speed if possible, I set mine to 80% speed.
-The finished prints are rigid, and can be hung on your wall (I use 3M magic strips) or glue a magnet to the back and add it to your fridge.
-I pass a butane torch over the finished prints to clean them up/remove any stringing.
