Description
The Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired electric power plant, located on the south bank of the River Thames in London. It is one of the world's largest brick buildings and notable for its original Art Deco design.
It was built originally as a single power station with two chimneys between 1929 and 1935. Later, a mirrored half, to its east, was built between 1937 and 1955, with a pause during WWII, creating the iconic four-chimney structure.Â
The building remained empty and derelict since its decommission in the late 70's until 2014, when plans to develop apartments, bars, restaurants, offices, shops and entertainment spaces were approved. The renovated Power Station building was opened to the public in October 2022, owned by Malaysian investors.
The station is also notable for its appearance on the cover of rock band Pink Floyd's tenth studio album Animals (1977) (from Wikipedia).
This model was made by Dany Sánchez in an appearance similar to its heyday in the 50's and 60's.

A hollow, multi-part version is provided so that lights can be added inside, optional. It also uses separate roofs. This version's parts can be printed with pauses for color change without MMU/AMS, although with these devices it's even easier and more possibilities are open.
For the main building, start with a color for the ground, then the main brick building, finally the chimneys.Â
For the roofs, start with grey for the flat base and change color for the objects above.
No rafts or brims needed, a base with rounded corners has been added to provide good adhesion
Infill: 15%, lightning pattern ok.
