Welcome, all RC enthusiasts!

One of the reasons the TT-01 is a great beginner chassis is the absolute lack of suspension adjustability - you can't mess up the setup this way. However, the chassis is rather nervous and tend to oversteer, especially with a truck body.

With this 3D-printable rear upright, you can adjust the handling of the chassis. By increasing the Toe and Camber angles, you can increase the rear traction and prevent spin-outs.

The uprights were tested by around 5 drivers during two seasons of racing in the Tamiya Truck class, around 10 weekends in total. Only a single one broke after a heavy hit.

Recommended printing settings:

  • Material: PC Blend > PLA Tough > PLA (don't use PETG or ASA, please)
  • Layer height: 0.15mm (lower not needed, higher may result in nasty overhangs)
  • Perimeters: 4
  • Infill: 25% (please don't increase it, you're wasting material. It's better to add perimeters)

I recommend using the 3/3deg option, as there really isn't a downside to the increased grip. If you want to stay true to the original and are just looking for a spare part, use the 0/0deg option. The 2/0deg option is equivalent to a Tamiya hop-up, so it may be suitable for you if your local series allows the hop-up, but not necessarily custom parts.

If you want to play with different angle values, I'm sharing the Fusion360 source file. Use parameters to adjust the angles to the values that you prefer.

If you want to further modify your chassis with 3D prints, I suggest using the front diff locker for carpet racing: https://thingiverse.com/thing:2831297. It is a great way to reduce the inherent tendency of the chassis to oversteer. With those two simple modifications and the right tire combination, I was able to find great success.

Happy racing!
