Description

For installing a thick 4 x 6mm2 YMvK-AS ground cable I needed a right-angled M32x1.5 cable gland to feed the cable from the floor to an Eaton System 55 distribution box. One could buy one, but in my case delivery time was weeks and they're quite expensive. Since I already had a standard M32 cable gland, I decided to design and print this right-angled extension and incorporate the inlet plate that can be ordered separately.

There are 2 versions, one for left-down which equals right-up and one for right-down which left-up.

Update: I added stl-files for a similar M25x1.5mm cable gland. Only changed the size of the thread and decreased the radius of the elbow accordingly. I did not print this yet, but should be the same as the original M32 version printed fine on the first try.

I printed this one standing upright on the threaded part with auto tree supports for the floating elbow and mounting plate. Make sure there are no supports going tomorrow the inner thread.
I printed on a Bambu Lab P1s using Orca slicer. I wanted the part to be accurate because of the threaded details and with high strength, so I used a layer height of 0.12mm and 5 wall loops. Infill at 15%.
Sometimes threads can be hard to use, especially when layer height isn't optimized to thread size. In this case I could easily drive in the cable gland. If you encounter some difficulty, a bit of silicone grease does wonders, in my experience.
