Josef and Berta from Machinarium

These little robots work for the Mayor of the robot city of Machinarium. One day the evil Black Cap Brotherhood kidnap Berta, infect the Mayor with a computervirus and banish Josef in the city dump. Josef needs to pull himself back together and set out to rescue Berta, Mayor and the whole city!

Josef

Josef is printed in place with the head and body connected with a hinge. Print 2 eyes, 2 hands, 2 feet and the butt. No supports are needed. If the printed holes end up too small to insert filament, you can ream the hole with 2mm drill.

After printing ease the hinge closed. One half of the hinge can be optionally glued solid to limit the movement. Add a short length of filament on top of the head with the plug, small drop of superglue holds both ends. Connect the hands to the body and feet to the butt with some short lengths of filament. Use a flexible filament for playability. Rigid filament can be set in shape with a lighter, quickly soften the filament, make the shape and hold until it is solid again.

Berta

Berta's head halves are aligned with filament pieces and the printed part mouth (black). You only need a few drops of glue. Place the neck in the neckhole when glueing the head together. If you missed this step, the head can still be forced on. Add a short length of filament as antenna. Glue in the locking piece in the back of the head. Hands and feet are connected in the same way as with Josef.
