Description
This case was designed specifically for mounting a Minisforum HX99G to a monitor. I use it to keep my computer close to where I use it, but this mount keeps it out of the way, and if you use it the way I do then it acts as a monitor stabilizer as well!
The mount includes 3 different VESA mounting points per side. The center one is used mainly for mounting the mini PC to a monitor, and then after mounting the other side can be ignored or used with either 1 or 2 monitor arms to stabilize the whole assembly. Â See the included pictures for usage ideas!Â
This print should not require any supports and was designed to print flat on a Prusa MK family printer. Print in a filament that has strong layer adhesion, the make in the photos was made with Elegoo PETG Pro. This print is strong enough to hold up a somewhat heavy monitor and even lift it off a desk (the example I have above uses 2 arms and mounts to a 32" monitor for example), but be warned that the strength and usage of this print is up to you and I take no responsibility for how you use it! Also be aware that mounting your computer to a monitor like this may affect your cooling airflow into the computer, do not mount it in a way that inhibits airflow!
To make this, you will need:
For any assembly, print 2 copies of the case. You can follow the included pictures for general assembly. The model is designed to work as either side of the case. If mounting to a monitor, connect that side first with the 4 M4 monitor mount bolts. In that side of the case, slip an M6 hex nut into each of the slot shown in the photo above. Place and hold the computer in place in the mounted side, then place and hold the second half of the case over the computer, and screw in the M6 bolts through both halves of the case so that they screw into the corresponding hex nuts on the other side.
If mounting with monitor arms, then before you mount the second half of the case you will need to insert the hex nuts into the corresponding slots for your configuration before you mount that side to the case, you will not have access to them after bolting the case together. The number of hex nuts and their placement will depend on the size of your VESA arm mount, and if you're using 1 arm or 2 for stabilization. From there you can proceed as before by mounting the second half the case to the first half, and then you can use your required number of M4 bolts to connect the arms to the case.
