UFH/VHF Quater Wave Antenna

I needed a simple 70cm quater wave antenna that fits next to my kitchen window. It is mounted on the side of a birdhouse and is used by its inhabitants for many years now as well as for repeater operation.

You'll need:
1x PL-295 with flange (might work with an N-type too, but never tried it)
4x 6mm M3 Screws
4x M3 Screws
4x cable shoes
1x 25mm diameter installation pipe 
copper installation wire (wire≠strand!) for the antenna (either 1.5mm² oder 2.5mm²)
A hot glue gun
A soldering Iron

1) Print both “top” parts and lengthen your radials / vertical monopole according to this calculator: https://m0ukd.com/calculators/quarter-wave-ground-plane-antenna-calculator/

In the picture you can see my Version for the 70cm band.

2) screw the radials on the flange and solder the monopole on the core. seal the antenna within the printed parts with hot glue. Seal the sides and the top to protect it from water, but don't seal the bottom!

2) Lengthen the pipe and put the antenna on top. Tune your antenna by adjusting the length of the monopole (frequency) and the angle of the radials (resistance).

3) Print the arm as well if you want to. It's ideal for fence posts or window frames… or bird houses!
