Description

I saw this model when looking for some backpacking accessories. I like the idea, but I did not want soo much sticking off of the pole as well as giving up the basket, so I designed this from scratch. This mod allows for pictures on the go, without the need for a separate selfie stick or other phone mount. I have found I can prop the trekking pole against trees and limbs for many unique shots.

Printing:

I recommend 100% infill and the strongest filament you have. I used PETG, and it survived the entire Fiery Gizzard Trail (more rock hopping than hiking) twice without major damage. PLA would work for light duty trips, but test out the “arms” to make sure that they are flexible enough.

The basket will need supports. I use organic support to support the slots. I would recommend organic supports as well for the threads, as I have found that organic supports clean up much better for threads.

The 3MF file included should have my print settings.

Usage:

Screw on the basket to your trekking pole and use like normal. When you want to use the phone attachment, slide in the “arms” to the desired slots and take some amazing pictures or videos.

This should fit most trekking poles, and was designed for a phone that measures 6.25" long. If you find you need a different size, reach out and I will add more arm sizes.
