Description
This is a simple dual-bearing spool holder for the Elegoo Centauri and Centauri Carbon.
608 bearing, x2
I strongly recommend using greased bearings. The grease provides some resistance which helps to slow down the spool when extrusion slows down or stops.
A 608 bearing is 8mm X 22mm X 7mm.
PETG or better filament is recommended.
PLA is not recommended because it will sag over time.
All parts are provided in the recommended printing orientation.
Paint supports on the holder as shown in this image (yellow area):
The roller and pin do not need any supports.
Support type: tree (manual)
Wall Loops: 3
Wall Order: Inner/Outer/Inner
Infill: 10%-15% of your favourite type of infill.
Insert the bearings on both sides of the roller
Put the roller on the holder
Push the pin in until the flat part is flush with the end of the connector, lift the roller slightly to align the bearings as needed.
Note that this may require some force, but it should fit without having to sand any surfaces.
Finally insert it into the spool holder mount on the printer and rotate it until it clicks into place.
The supported area of the connector will probably end up looking a bit rough. This will not affect the functionality and won't be visible once installed on the printer.
If the seam on the roller is rough it may affect smooth rolling. If this is the case for you, simply sand down the seam a bit.
