Description
We use 2" schedule 40 PVC pipe for mounting birdhouses on our property. We use 5 foot sections of PVC pipe fitted over heavy duty 6 foot “T” posts driven into the ground. The 6', heavy duty, “T” post provides stability and the PVC provides a clean appearance and a birdhouse attachment point.
This model allows attachment of a Kingsyard recycled plastic bluebird house to the PVC pipe. The house is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Kingsyard-Recycled-Bluebird-Predator-Birdhouse/dp/B0BHYPF8PJ
The mount incorporates a cap to close the top of the pipe and has holes on 65mm centers to accommodate 25mm M5 screws for attachment. It provides for a stable attacment with no potential to tilt or swing.
The mount should be printed from UV and weather resistant material. I used white ASA to coordinate with the white PVC. The mount is a slip fit on the 2" PVC pipe.
I recommend using at least a 20% infill and enough walls for at least a 2mm thickness to help properly grip the screws.
Fusion 360 source and .STEP files are included in addition to the .STL.
