This is obviously inspired by Optimum Tech's Zeromouse and Zeromouse Blade, but using FDM and a more affordable donor mouse.
I wanted to design a Li'l Magnum! to fit an inexpensive mouse that you can get in a day or two from Amazon. The UHURU WM-09 is currently $9.59 with Prime shipping. It isn't perfect, but the UHURU has the same PAW3395 sensor as my VXE Mad R and VXE R1 Pro. It is a long PCB, so it is more suitable for the Zeromouse-length layout of the Longboy Li'l Magnum! setup.
My Longboy setup printed in PLA comes in at 26.3 grams with the $10 UHURU WM-09 electronics. You do have to remove the wheel, bend the Li'l Magnum! a bit, and rotate the PCB around just right to get the encoder clear the upper cross brace on the Longboy.
The button flapper paddles have less spring tension when printed with one perimeter instead of two, and the length of the plunger has been adjusted to make up for this. I am using lightning infill, and I had to lower the “minimum sparse infill threshold” in Orcaslicer to 1 cubic mm to make sure the button arms would be hollow. The width and thickness of the arms is dialed in for the springiness of PLA.
The UHURU isn't an amazing mouse by any means, but it is quite adequate. I am excited to say that you can print and build a pretty good 26-gram gaming mouse for around $10. I would expect that if I had latency measuring hardware we would learn that the UHURU has significantly more latency than the VXE/ATK mice, but they feel about the same to me when playing Team Fortress 2.
