Description

→ PROTOTYPE ←

Foreword: This model is still under construction. Until now, this is just a concept for the contest. But I'm working on it ;D

Spice up your DJ control Mixer with this observing fader knob! The eyeball rolls in the direction where the knob is pointing to and always watches your musical decisions. And if the mechanism fails to work, you can still use it, just without the ribbon mechanism.

(Not tested on the device yet)

Updates:

09.03.2025

  • more clearance for the iris
  • adjustments inside the shell: rail cutouts to insert the eyeball without damage

Assembly

  1. Press or glue the pupil into the iris
  2. Press or glue the iris into the eyeball
  3. Insert the two upper gears into the eyeball
  4. Slide the eyeball with the loosely attached ribbons into the shell until it locks in
  5. Hold the lower gears with the ribbon around them and insert the connection piece

Rubber

I can't really recommend any ribbon, It's up to how tight you want the mechanism to be.

There are small ribbons for making braids and such - these fit perfectly. Or you use any ribbon, cut it to the right size and “weld” it back together.

Print Settings

Since this is a very tiny model with many functional details, fine print settings are recommended (If it delivers better results as normal)

  • min. Perimeters: 2
  • Nozzle: ≤ 0.4 mm
  • Support: no (only the shell might need some inner support)
