Description

This is a tool I made to assist in getting wires into the “loom” or wire wrapping in my car. There were tools available online but the cost seemed ridiculous so I designed one for myself.
The tool is made in two pieces so they will need to be assembled. The inner part is easily slid inside the outer part. See the pictures for orientation.

To use: Turn the inner part so that the openings line up between the inner and outer (this is done so you don't need to have the ends of the wires loose to use the tool).
Drop the wires you're wrapping into the open gap.
Turn the inner tube 180 degrees to close the gap completely.
Insert the expander into the loom and stretch the loom toward the open end making sure that it's wrapped around the tool.
Hold both the wires and the loom and gently slide the tool down the loom ensuring that the loom is wrapping around the wires.
See pictures for examples on how this will look as you progress.

It takes some practice but within a short time, you can wrap your wires much more quickly than trying to do this simply by hand.

Two tools are provided: a small and a large. For my needs, I find that I use the small tool most. You can scale the tool to any size you like, just be sure to scale both the inner and outer halves to the same value.

Feedback welcome.
