"TAC-WEDGE" - Multidirectional Door Wedge for Emergency Personnel

Opening a door as a firefighter, law enforcement officer or emergency doctor can be a challenge sometimes- but KEEPING it open can be just as important. If you are tired of jamming doormats and trashcans into doorways then this print is for you!

I tried to design a small and powerful doorwedge that can be used on almost every door you could possibly encounter. By rotating the wedge 90 degrees you can cover a wide range from 3 - 50 mm between the door and the floor below and the built-in grooves keep it where you place it. If you thread a piece of paracord through the hole in the model you can simply rip it out to remove it again.

What sets this door wedge apart from other models is the possibility to clip a common 15 mm chemlight / glowstick to the top the make the opened door easy to identify for following personnel, not only in low-light-conditions. You can use different colors (or even IR glowsticks) to mark entries as searched/unsave/retreat/exit, depending on your unit. If you don't need this feature you can simply print a version without it :)

Printing:

With enough perimeters and infill you can print this model in PLA or PETG but I recommend a material that can take a hit or two with a boot (ASA, ABS). Print the wedge with the big text (POLICE, EMS …) on the buildplate for maximum strength. You can add a color change after 1,2 mm (6 layer heights) for better visibility. Use dark and light colors for better contrast.

I gave my best to make a version for every possible user out there, therefore I created over 20 different variations of the wedge with text in english and german. If you want or need a different one leave a comment or remix the model.

English: Police, EMS, Rescue Service, Fire Brigade, Sheriff

German: Polizei, Rettung, Notarzt, Feuerwehr, THW

Each one is available with and without the glowstick clip and for customization I uploaded blank ones as well.
